Located in the northern side of the city, the Huong Duong Kindergarten in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, is one of four schools that have just been recognised as a national standard school by the municipal People's Committee in January 2025. This result is a testament to the continuous efforts of the school's staff and teachers in creating a friendly and safe environment for children.
Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Chung, Principal of the school, said that the school's facilities are increasingly modernized as the playground, classrooms, and functional rooms are solidly built, and children's toys are safe and highly educational. Every year, the school purchases and supplements teaching equipment and supplies to meet the needs of caring for and educating children of all ages.
“The Board of Directors of the school always reminds the teaching staff to take care of children wholeheartedly, thoughtfully, and friendly so that children are confident, and love school and class. Also, they absolutely do not use any punishment that affects children's physical and mental health. Thanks to that, over the past school years, 100% of children studying at the school are guaranteed physical and mental safety” said Ms. Chung.
Staff and teachers of the Huong Duong Kindergarten always consider children as their own children. Not only caring for and educating children, many teachers also connect with donors to give gifts needy children on holidays and Tet to children in difficult circumstances. Therefore, parents are very confident when sending their children here and regularly support the school with human resources and materials in extracurricular educational activities.
Ms. Truong Thi Ha, a resident of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, said that her family felt very secure when sending her child to the kindergarten because the teachers always take good care of her child. The majority of parents here are workers in the industrial park, many days they work overtime and come home late, but the teachers are still willing to look after the children and wait for their parents to pick them up.
Also a school that has just been recognised as a national standard at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the Hoa Mai Kindergarten in Hoa Chau Commune, Hoa Vang District, always identifies ensuring the safety of children as the top priority. Ms. Ngo Thi My Le, the school's principal, said that the school has 285 children studying in 12 classes.
To build a safe educational environment, in addition to investing in facilities, and green, clean and beautiful campus landscape, the school pays special attention to educational work associated with vivid visual reality.
In particular, promoting the implementation of the model "Building a kindergarten with children as the center", teachers teach children with vivid, funny images, easy-to-understand lessons, helping children easily absorb and remember to practice. Moreover, school teachers proactively integrate STEM education in all activities.
"Every year, the school facilitate children to visit and experience traditional craft villages and historical sites in the locality, aimed at providing them with creativity and necessary life skills", Ms. Le said.
According to Phan Huu Dung, Deputy Head of the Office of Education and Training of Hoa Vang District, there are currently 19 kindergartens in the district, including 15 public and 4 private schools. All schools have invested in building facilities, purchasing equipment for child care and education, and improving the learning and playing environment associated with the theme "Building a child-centered environment".
In the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, 6 kindergartens met the level 2 education quality standards and the national level 1 standards, bringing the total number of public kindergartens meeting national standards in the district to 11 among the 15 schools.
In the coming time, the district will maintain the quality of schools that have met the standards. In particular, preschools are encouraged to be proactive and creative in improving the quality of implementing the national preschool education programme, and innovating child care and education activities.
At the same time, efforts will be made to take advantage of all local opportunities and infrastructure to create a premise for children to develop comprehensively as a preparation for entering the next level of education.
