As of 5.00 pm on 17 June, the number of confirmed coronavirus (known as Covid-19) cases around the world has jumped to 8,282,542.

Viet Nam confirmed one new imported case of the novel coronavirus on June 17 morning, bringing the country's total to 335, Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said. The country has gone 62 consecutive days without a domestically transmitted infection with no deaths till date. Statistics released by the Committee show that 325 of Viet Nam's 335 cases have been given the all-clear for the virus. This means 97 percent of the cases in the county have made a full recovery from the illness. 

Thus far six people have been diagnosed with the disease in Da Nang, and all of them have been cleared of the virus.
