As of 3.30 pm on 19 June, the number of confirmed coronavirus (known as Covid-19) cases around the world has jumped to 8,595,061.
Viet Nam confirmed seven new imported case of the novel coronavirus at 6pm on June 18, bringing the country's total to 342, Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said. All the new cases are Vietnamese citizens returning from Kuwait on flight QH9092 on June 16, the Committee said. They were quarantined in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau after entering Viet Nam at the Tan Son Nhat Airport Ho Chi Minh City. Latest update from Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control states that on 19 June afternoon, no-one in Viet Nam were positive for the potentially deadly virus. It means the total number of cases in the country still stands at 342, with no deaths. Statistics released by the Committee show that Viet Nam has seen 325 people recover from the deadly illness, including 49 foreigners. This means the percentage of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus in the country currently reaches 95.
Thus far six people have been diagnosed with the disease in Da Nang, and all of them have been cleared of the virus.
