Covid-19 updates on 20 June

As of 10.00 am on 20 June, the number of confirmed coronavirus (known as Covid-19) cases around the world has jumped to 8,750,478.

There have been seven new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Viet Nam, meaning there are now 349 people in Viet Nam who have tested positive for coronavirus, according to Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control figures released at 6pm on June 19. All the new patients are Vietnamese citizens returning from Europe on flight VN2 on June 6, the Committee said. They were quarantined in Ha Noi after entering Viet Nam. They tested positive for coronavirus on 18 June and all of them are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 in Dong Anh, Ha Noi. Latest update from Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control states that on 20 June morning, no-one in Viet Nam were positive for the potentially deadly virus. It means the total number of cases in the country still stands at 349, with no deaths.

Statistics released by the Committee show that Viet Nam has seen 326 people recover from the deadly illness. This means the percentage of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus in the country currently reaches 93.4.

Thus far six people have been diagnosed with the disease in Da Nang, and all of them have been cleared of the virus.
