The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has been currently drafting technical guidelines for the classification of household solid waste.

Within this framework, the classification of household waste at the household level is emphasized, with the aim of imposing penalties on households that fail to sort their waste after December 31, 2024, as specified in Government Decree 45/2022/ND-CP dated July 7, 2022, "regarding administrative sanctions in the field of environmental protection," and in Article 79, Section 7 of the 2020 Environmental Protection Law.
