Just about 2 km north from the centre of Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa Province, the Ponagar Cham Tower complex is considered as the most typical architecture of the Cham people.

Located on top of a small hill about 50m above sea level, the complex was built with square red bricks between 8th and 13th centuries by the Cham people.

The Ponagar complex consists of three floors with a gate on the 1st floor which have been totally destroyed.

In front of the relic complex are two rows of 10 large pillars and 10 small pillars on its both sides.

The 2nd floor, called Mandapa (guest house), is the place where pilgrims can rest and prepare their offerings and costumes before practising the rituals.

On the 3rd floor, there are four towers, including the 23m-tall Ponagar Tower which is the most outstanding and highest one.

DA NANG Today would like to share with our readers some photos of this site, taken by our reporter Thu Ha.
