Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Phuc underscored the need for the security forces to make their utmost with a high sense of responsibility in order to ensure ultimate security during AELW.
The ceremony was then followed by an anti-terror drill aiming at enhancing the readiness in responding to any security complications in a bid to ensure political and social security, and ensuring the absolute safety of the AELW participants.
During the counter-terrorism practice, 2 scenarios were role-played by the security units.
In the first, the police officers were required to free a group of APEC delegates who were ambushed by terrorists whilst being on the way to the city’s International Airport.
The second scenario featured the rescue of hostages captured by other group of terrorists on a sightseeing boat operating on the Han River.
Below are some photos of the ceremony and the drill, taken by our reporter Quoc Khai.
