On these sunny days in the buildup to the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) 2022 festival, Nam O  Reef, nestled in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang have impressively been covered with green moss, which creates stunning scenes of a paradise. This place still retains the pristine look of a time-honoured fishing village at the foot of Hai Van Pass.

Given its unspoiled, striking natural scenery and cultural and historical vestiges, the Nam O Reef is planned to serve a namesake community-based tourism project.

The Nam O Reef are famous for their multi-shaped rocks covered with green moss when the winter ends and the weather gets warmer, stretching along the coast and when in season.

The Nam O Reef looks most beautiful from the end of the 12th lunar month till after the Tet festival when moss grows a lot on the rocks.

The sea, land and sky of Nam O are associated with the long-standing working and cultural life of local people, especially the profession of fishing and making ‘nuoc mam’ (fish sauce).
