Last Friday the Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, held a reception for the new Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Viet Nam, Mr Hiroshi Fukada.  He expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral relationship between Da Nang and Japan.

Secretary Tho said he hoped that the Ambassador would do his utmost during his tenure to appeal for more Japanese businesses to invest in the city’s hi-tech industry, the metro system and vocational training.  He also asked him to promote more cultural exchanges, and to boost bilateral cooperation in tourism.  He vowed that the city authorities would create favourable conditions for any Japanese investors.

The city leader also asked him to promote the opening of direct Narita-Da Nang flights as soon as possible in order to bring more business people and visitors from Japan to the city.

Mr Hiroshi expressed his sympathy to the city authorities about the damage caused by the recent storm.  He said that his country’s businesses praised Da Nang’s investment climate, and promised to make every effort to help the city as requested by the city leader.
