The 10^th session of the Da Nang People's Council (PC) in its 8^th tenure opened at the municipal People’s Committee Meeting Hall today.  The session, which will close on 10 July, will be broadcast live on Da Nang Radio and Television Station (DRT)’s channels, except for discussions which took place this afternoon.

This morning, the session reviewed the city’s socio-economic development and its security and defence over the first 6 months of this year, and identified key tasks for the second half of the year.  In addition, the participants heard reports about local government building work over the past 6 months from the city’s Fatherland Front Committee.  They were also briefed on answers to questions raised by local voters at the 8^th session of the local PC.  The municipal PC members answered voters’ questions about urgent matters raised before the 10^th session. 

This afternoon, the PC members were divided into 3 groups to discuss the city’s major issues.
