At the 10th session of the Da Nang People's Council in its 8th tenure, representatives of the municipal People’s Committee (PC) promised that they would direct local relevant agencies to reach this year’s key targets.

In detail, a focus will be on implementing the city’s “Year for Business 2014” programme effectively, along with issuing more policies to support local businesses.   In addition, the city authorities will deploy local business development and economic restructuring projects by 2020.  The city will also attach importance to promoting legal lending activities as well as providing credit guarantees for local businesses to facilitate them to access bank loans.  Moreover, local investment, trade and tourism promotional activities will be increased.  Special attention will also be paid to fostering the local maritime economy, supporting local fishermen to build fishing vessels, and encouraging them to build more steel-hulled boats.  Accordingly, offshore fishing trips to Viet Nam’s waters will help to safeguard its sovereignty over its sea and islands.  Also, measures will be taken to appeal for more donations from local organisations and individuals to upgrade rural areas in Hoa Vang District.

As for other tasks, the city’s authorities will also ensure that the city’s total budget collections will exceed this year’s estimates, with a focus on collecting overdue taxes and land-use arrears.  Stronger measures will be taken to recheck the use of local land resources, make plans for pricing land use, and promptly take back under-used or unused land at local industrial parks.  The revoked land will be leased to businesses which make commitments to use the land for production activities.  Some local government offices and houses will transfer their land use rights to buyers through public auctions, and the city will continue to issue local government bonds.  Additionally, the city will also take advantage of the funding from the central government to ensure sufficient capital for local basic construction projects.

Furthermore, representatives from the municipal PC will listen to concerns raised by local voters through hotlines, letters to local authorities, and meetings between the city leaders and local voters.
