Enhancing bilateral cooperation with Japanese localities
As part of their ongoing working visit to Japan, some of Da Nang’s leaders, led by the Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Mr Vo Cong Tri, have recently met with the leaders of Nagasaki City.
Deputy Secretary Tri said that Da Nang has established friendly relationships with a number of Japan’s localities, including Nagasaki City. He added that recent years have seen fruitful results from the cooperation in terms of the economy, culture and tourism. Since 2009, some of Da Nang’s government officials have been sent to train in Nagasaki, which has helped to deepen the bilateral exchange and cooperative relationship.

Mr Tri thanked the Nagasaki authorities for their active support for Da Nang over recent years, and he asked them to continue to provide assistance for his city. He also took the opportunity to invite the leaders of Nagasaki and its businesses to visit the city in order to further boost the cooperation, especially in economic and environmental aspects.
Previously, the Da Nang delegation had visited the Nagasaki University to discuss human resources training and cultural exchanges between the University of Da Nang and the Nagasaki University in particular, as well as between Da Nang and Nagasaki City in general.
A seminar to promote investment into Da Nang had been held in Fukuoka City with the participation of representatives from over 150 Japanese businesses. During the event, the participants were introduced to the favourable geographical location of Da Nang, its great potential for cooperation, and its incentive policies for foreign investors. The aim was to appeal for more Japanese businesses, especially those from the Kyushu area, to invest in the city.
