To mark the 69^th anniversary of Viet Nam's National Day (2 September), the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) last Friday held a get-together for ex-pats who are working and living in the city.

Addressing the event, DAFO’s Chairman, Mr Huynh Duc Truong, said that over the past 69 years, the Vietnamese Party, State and people have exerted every effort to make Viet Nam a country of peace, independence, democracy and prosperity, as well as a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community.

Chairman Truong remarked that during this period of national construction and defence, Da Nang has received strong support from international friends in many aspects, including the economy, trade, investment, tourism, science, education, and humanitarian aid.

The city is now home to 296 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of over 3.36 billion USD.
