At the meeting, the top Vietnamese legislator conveyed the profound condolences of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to Cambodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni, NA President Heng Samrin, Prime Minister Hun Sen and people.

He spoke highly of the deceased’s role and contributions to Cambodia’s nation-building and development and to consolidating and enhancing the Viet Nam-Cambodia friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

Delighted at the fine development of bilateral ties in all fields, Heng Samrin expressed his gratitude for the valuable support of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to Cambodia at all times.

Both leaders agreed to maintain and consolidate the two countries’ time-honoured friendship and all-round cooperation for the interest of their people and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
