Secretary Anh took the opportunity to thank the Italian government for their active involvement in helping his city implement its social welfare programmes over recent years. He expressed his desire that Da Nang and Italian localities would further foster cooperation in education and training, tourism, urban management, seaport management, the hi-tech sector, and other aspects.
On the same day, during his reception for a group of Italian businesspeople and representatives from several Italian universities led by Ambassador Piccioni, municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho proudly introduced his guests to the city’s remarkable growth in tourism and services over recent years.
The city leader said “Da Nang has seen remarkable achievements during its recent development period, especially in public administrative services. This has helped to promote the local tourism services, and attract even more investment into the city”. He added “I hope the visit of our Italian guests will help Da Nang to promote bilateral cooperation with Italian businesses in those sectors which are the city’s top priorities. These include hi-tech and information technology industries, tourism and services”.
Ambassador Piccioni took the opportunity to ask the Da Nang authorities to create favourable conditions for the Italian Embassy in Viet Nam to organise a seminar on climate change in the city in the near future.
Also on the same day, the Italian delegation attended a workshop to discuss bilateral business cooperation opportunities with the city.
Addressing that event, Ambassador Piccioni said “Italy has a keen interest in investing in Da Nang thanks to its environmentally-friendly policies and favourable incentives for foreign investors. Special attention will be paid to investing in the local environment, climate change, engineer training, and urban infrastructure development”.
