Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho recently approved a detailed plan for the displays of exhibits at the Hoang Sa Exhibition House.

The exhibits will feature the reaffirming of Viet Nam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, the truth about the national struggle to protect sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, and the strong determination of the Vietnamese people to protect the nation’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.

The 3-storey exhibition house will display around 500 documents and artifacts, grouped according to 5 themes: the geographical position and natural conditions of the islands; Viet Nam’s sovereignty over the archipelago during the reign of the Nguyen lords; Hoang Sa in old Vietnamese bibliographies issued before and during the feudal Nguyen Dynasty over the 1802 - 1945 period; Viet Nam’s legitimate sovereignty over the islands in the 1945 - 1975 period; and the period since 1975.

The exhibition house will become a centre providing Hoang Sa-related historical information for locals and visitors from both home and abroad to help them understand more about the country’s sovereignty over the archipelagos.
