The voters in Son Tra District proposed that local land should be leased to domestic and foreign businesses for a maximum rental term of 30 years, instead of the present 50 years.

They also raised their concerns about the trade in smuggled, fake and counterfeit goods, tax evasion, complicated corruption, and the problem of many unprofitable state-run corporations going bankrupt or causing huge financial losses to the State’s budget over recent years.  These matters have triggered a lot of public discontent.

In particular, voter Nguyen Dang from Son Tra District’s Tho Quang Ward raised his deep concern about the recent complicated situation in the East Sea, and suggested that the NA should issue a special resolution about the East Sea at the forthcoming session.  He also took the opportunity to urge the central government to release more support policies for local government employees who had retired before 1990, because their retirement pensions are currently very low.

Meanwhile, voter Dang Hong Van from Ngu Hanh Son District’s My An Ward raised his voice against the implementation of FDI projects at local seaside locations which are very sensitive in respect of national defence and security.

Voters from the 2 districts also stressed the urgency for the city authorities to take stronger measures to resolve local environmental pollution hotspots, including the T20 and My Khe beaches, as well as deal with other highly concerning issues relating to urban planning and building a cultured and civilised urban lifestyle.   They also proposed that the central government should increase the inspections of state-funded projects and tighten the management of the use of state-owned vehicles with blue registration plates.

The Head of the city’s NA members’ group, Mr Nguyen Thanh Quang, vowed that the matters raised by the voters would be presented at the upcoming NA session.
