Vice Chairman Mien thanked the President Sharma, and the Committee as a whole, for their active support for Viet Nam during the anti-US resistance war and the national progress, as well as for helping Da Nang advertise its beautiful images to international friends and bolster the bilateral cooperation with India.
The host remarked “This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Viet Nam-India diplomatic ties and 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries. I, therefore, hoped that Mr Sharma would assist the city to appeal for more businesses from West Bengal State, and his country as a whole, to invest into the city’s priority aspects such as tourism, information technology, education and cultural exchange.”
President Sharma expressed his impression on Da Nang’s remarkable socio-economic achievements over recent years. He added that his country and Viet Nam shared similarities in religion, culture and trade thousands of years ago. Indian people always support Viet Nam in all periods from its struggles for national liberation, and during the construction and protection progress of the country. He hoped that the bilateral cooperation with Viet Nam in investment, cultural exchange, trade and education, would be tightened in the years ahead.
Mr Sharma wrote a book entitled ‘Da Nang - the City of Wonders’ which made its debut in Kolkata City, India, early November 2016. The book features the writer’s feelings and impression on the city’s progress over the past 2 decades. The book is one of dozens of his English books about Viet Nam which showcase his special love for the country and people of Viet Nam.
