Best conditions for AELW 2017 ensured
Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho has asked the local authorities to make thorough preparation for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW 2017), which is scheduled to take place in the city from 6-11 November.

The request was made at a working session with representatives from municipal departments, agencies, and the district and commune-level authorities on 23 September.
Chairman Tho required that local police crack down on crimes whilst local authorities must ensure clean environment and security.
He ordered the municipal departments of Natural Resources and Environment, Construction, and Transport to tighten management of environment, construction and transport, particularly land clearance, and to accelerate the implementation of local key projects.
Regarding the city’s socio-economic performance between January and September, the municipal People’s Committee reported that the GDP growth was estimated at 7.9% and export turnover was valued at nearly 1.1 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 11.8%.
Local industrial parks attracted 34 investment projects worth about 783 billion VND (34.4 million USD) in total. Additionally, the city authorities granted licences to 73 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects totalling nearly 62 million USD.
The city welcomed over 5.1 million tourists from both home and abroad in the first 9 months of this year.
