Tightening bilateral ties with Laos
On Tuesday, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien played host to a group of visitors from the Liaison Committee for Overseas Laotian People, led by its Head Souvanna Phouyavong.

Vice Chairman Mien remarked that his city has implemented numerous bilateral cooperative programmes with the southern and central localities of Laos in such aspects as agriculture, education, defence and trade.
The host also said that the city leaders received a total of 15 groups of high-ranking officials from Laos in the first half of this year. He affirmed that the local authorities are always paying special attention to protecting legal rights of Laotian people who are studying and working in Da Nang, as well as to creating very favourable conditions for them during their stay here.
On behalf of the visitors, Mr Phouyavong expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang over recent years. He took the opportunity to thank the Da Nang authorities for their great care for Laotian expats in the city. He hoped that the bilateral cooperative relations with the city would be further fostered in the years ahead.
