Mainland guests visit Song Tu Tay Island
During their ongoing trip to Khanh Hoa Province’s Truong Sa Islands District and the marine defence platform DK1, the visiting delegation, including representatives from the authorities, organisations and associations in Da Nang, plus reporters from media agencies citywide, visited the Song Tu Tay Island on Thursday.
The visitors from the mainland presented gifts to officers and men from the High Command of Naval Zone 4 who are on duty there.
In addition, the visitors took part in musical exchange activities with naval soldiers and residents on the island. The visitors and hosts were thrilled with fascinating performances of songs about seas and islands by singers and artistes from the city’s Trung Vuong Theatre, plus the island’s officers and men.
The guests also paid visits to pagodas and residents living on the island.
The Song Tu Tay Island is a coral dune in the Truong Sa archipelago in Song Tu Tay Island Commune, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province.
The 12-ha island is the archipelago’s 6th largest and the country’s 2nd largest one.
There is lots of fresh water on the island, which is convenient for islanders’ daily activities. In addition, islanders grow many vegetables and raise poultry.
