Mr Tri added the focus would be on organising seminars to introduce the Nagasaki Prefectural University to senior high school pupils across the city and their parents, as well as promoting Japanese student exchange programmes in the city.
Deputy Secretary Tri also asked the Nagasaki Prefectural University to work closely with the Da Nang-based Japanese language centres to accelerate the establishment of a Japanese language school for Vietnamese students who are studying in Nagasaki Prefecture’s Goto City.
In reply, Mr Shinobu Inanaga said the project on building a Japanese language school in Goto City was jointly developed by the Nagasaki Prefecture and Goto authorities and the Nagasaki Prefectural University.
He added that the construction of the Japanese language school is underway. The school will start enrolling in April 2020 and it is open to students from Viet Nam, especially Da Nang, who are studying in Japan.
Da Nang students will be granted scholarships, and offered job opportunities during their enrollment period there. After graduation, they will be given a chance to participate in entrance exams to the Nagasaki Prefectural University.
