Viettel willing to support Da Nang to create smarter city
Military-run telecom giant Viettel Group is always willing to partner with Da Nang to boost digitalisation and create a smarter city in the time ahead.
The statement was made by Viettel Group Deputy General Director Nguyen Thanh Nam during his Monday meeting with Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.
Deputy General Director Nam congratulated Da Nang on its successful organisation of the 22nd Congress of the Da Nang Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 tenure last year. He also briefed the host on the Group's significant achievements in recent years.
The visitor asked for help from Da Nang government to facilitate his group to soon build its headquarters in Da Nang, develop telecommunication infrastructure, and effectively implement IT and telecommunications solutions, thereby significantly contributing to ensuring information security and safety for the city.
Deputy Secretary Triet highly hailed Viettel Group’s remarkable achievements and its devotion for the city’s growth over recent years.
Mr Triet remarked, over the 2021 – 2025 period, Da Nang would remain on its strong feet on leveraging its five spearhead economic sectors, namely travel and high quality services associated with resort real estates; seaports and airports; hi-tech industry associated with creative urban construction and startups; IT, electronics and telecommunications associated with the digital economy; and hi-tech agriculture and fisheries. He also urged the group to keep its commitment to partner with the city during its socio-economic development.
Mr Triet also pledged that the Da Nang authorities would provide more active support for the Da Nang branch of Viettel Group, and the giant group at large, to implement effectively their projects in the city in the time to come.
