These were directions made by Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son during his Thursday inspection visit to the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and Port.
During his visit, Vice Chairman Son directed functional bodies to arrange suitable areas outside the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and Port for 27 oil tankers licensed to operate there (excluding 2 oil tankers whose licenses have expired) to anchor.
He requested relevant agencies to build a suitable anchorage area inside the port for oil tankers with a limited number in an effort to prevent fire and explosions if deemed necessary for the operation of oil tankers in providing fuel for fishing vessels there.
Vice Chairman Son urged construction units to work flat out to get the upgrade of the fishing wharf and fishery house at the port completed by the end of 2021, and the expansion of the port finished by June 2022, 5 months earlier than the date prescribed in the contract.
“At the same time, importance should be attached to proactively preparing for necessary documents and procedures to implement the 2nd stage of the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and Port upgrade and expansion project, as well as resolving the environmental pollution problem here in a bid to turn the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and Port into a civilised and ecological one", emphasised Vice Chairman Son.
