22 outstanding individuals and groups honoured at 'I love Da Nang' gala night for great devotion to community

On Wednesday evening, the Da Nang People's Committee in collaboration with the Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper to hold a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the ‘I love Da Nang’ gala night (2017-2021) and honour 22 individuals and organisations that have made positive contributions to the construction and development of the city.

The honourees are those who have made great devotion to local community. Also, their stories have had positive effects on the whole community, helping to spread positive energy with others, and to promote the beautiful images of the city to both domestic and foreign visitors.

The event was with the presence of Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh, People’s Committee Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen, and former People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho - the initiator of the "I love Da Nang" programme.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Le Trung Chinh highly appreciated the meaningfulness of the "I love Da Nang" programme over the past 5 years, hoping that the Tuoi Tre Newspaper in particular, and other press agencies citywide in general, would continue to spread beautiful images of the city to both domestic and foreign visitors.

Chairman Chinh remarked the honourees had brought love and hope for the community. Each honouree had their own situation but was always ready to go to difficult places and willing to share time, money and efforts in support for the poor, the homeless, or those affected by the pandemic.

“They are representing many Da Nang people who are contributing to building the soul of the city every day with kind things, thereby creating an important foundation for helping Da Nang turn itself into a dynamic, friendly and peaceful city", shared Mr Chinh.

The ‘I love Da Nang’ category of the Tuoi Tre Newspaper features articles about shining examples of good deeds in Da Nang. Over the past 5 years, more than 150 individuals and groups citywide have been introduced in the ‘I love Da Nang’ category.

On this occasion, 6 groups were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Da Nang People’s Committee in recognition of their positive contributions to the ‘I love Da Nang’ programme during the 2017-2021 period.
