During the ceremony, participating veterans together reviewed and appreciated the fighting spirit and the heroic sacrifice of the 64 soldiers in a struggle for the fatherland's sovereignty over its seas and islands. They also encouraged each other to overcome difficulties, continue to be exemplary in emulation movements at agencies and localities, and educate younger generations to participate in the cause of national construction and defence.
Also on the same day, the Liaison Board offered incense at the Nai Nam Village Communal House in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, and released flower garlands on a section of the Han River near the Tien Son Bridge, to commemorate the 64 fallen soldiers.
Also, representatives from the board presented gifts to 9 poor families of the Truong Sa martyrs in the city.
