Secretary Quang remarked that unlike Northern and Southern Viet Nam, investment activities driven by Samsung Viet Nam in the central region in general, and Da Nang in particular, were still modest.

He, therefore, expressed his hope that Samsung Group and Samsung Viet Nam will expand investment into Da Nang, and Central Viet Nam as a whole, in the future. He also pledged that the city would create the best conditions for Samsung Viet Nam to conduct research and expand cooperation and investment activities in Da Nang in the coming time.

The city Party chief Quang introduced the city’s modern and synchronous IT and hi-tech infrastructure to his guest. Specifically, the city boasted the best-rated Hi-tech Park infrastructure in Viet Nam, and it is on track to complete the construction of the Software Park No. 2. All will facilitate for investors in the fields of IT, hi-tech and telecommunications networks to learn about investment and cooperation opportunities in the city.

The city leader expressed his warm welcome for the Samsung Vina Electronics Co., Ltd. to test 5G telecommunications network in Da Nang since December 2021, vowing that the city will create very favourable conditions for the company to develop 5G telecommunications network in Da Nang.

In his brief introduction to the host, General Director Choi Joo Ho remarked that in 2008, Samsung Group officially started construction of the first mobile phone factory in Bac Ninh Province, opening up Samsung's investment journey in Viet Nam.

Up to now, Samsung has run a total of six factories and one Research & Development (R&D) Centre in Viet Nam. Notably, two mobile phone factories in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces are Samsung’s two largest in the world. Meanwhile, Samsung's home electronics factory in Ho Chi Minh City is considered the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia.

In Da Nang, Samsung Viet Nam is testing a commercial 5G telecommunications network, whilst its member company has initially invested in the hotel sector. All have created a foundation for Samsung Viet Nam and its member companies to expand cooperation and investment in the city in the future.

Mr. Choi Joo Ho took the opportunity to ask for support from the city for Samsung Viet Nam to conduct research, and carry out cooperation and investment activities, in Da Nang in the coming time.
