Visiting such fairs, workers had the chance to buy essential items at discounted prices, receive free health advice and checks by medical workers, as well buy cheaper medications, and enjoy other benefits. The first event which took place at the municipal Labour Culture House, featured 41 stalls of 25 businesses that offered a discount of 5 - 50% on their products

Also at these fairs, the Da Nang Confederation of Labour gave out 30,000 vouchers to workers that allowed each of them to receive 5 free shopping vouchers valued at VND 100,000 each. The recipients were workers in difficult circumstances, those affected by COVID-19, those who suffered from an accident at work or from an occupational disease, those with a chronic illness, and more.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Dien, the General Director of Central Vase Joint Stock Company – FUMART Supermarket said that FuMart has brought a total of over 500 essential items of clear origin to the three fairs while a discount of 10 - 50% has been offered on these products in a bid to support the Da Nang Confederation of Labour’s efforts to bring joy to workers.

Mr Dien also remarked that FuMart demonstrated its willingness to make a small contribution to the city’s efforts to support workers during the 2022 Workers Month through bringing discounted goods to them. The organisation of such fairs also aimed to promote locally produced goods from in Da Nang and around the county to workers, stimulate demand in these products and boost sales in an attempt to support the ‘Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods’ campaign, he added.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Minh, the Chairman of the Da Nang Confederation of Labour, said that Trade Union organisation of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks (IPs) will hold two more such fairs for workers in industrial parks with a large number of workers, namely Hoa Khanh and Da Nang IPs.

The organization of three workers' fairs is part of a series of activities to respond to the Workers' Month in order to support trade union members and employees as well as help them overcome difficulties and hardships triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years.
