During his meeting with the Da Nang guests, Mr Vilayvong Boutdakham, Governor of Champasak Province, applauded the visit by the Da Nang delegation for deepening bilateral relations between the two localities.
He also thanked Vietnamese State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc for his special care and spiritual encouragement, as well as the Da Nang Administration for its active support, for Champasak Province.
The Lao host remarked that the Party, government and people of Champasak Province were making efforts to implement the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels, and overcome pandemic-triggered difficulties with a focus on promoting the local economic development, ensuring security and social order, thereby maintaining stable economic growth and improving locals’ living standards.
Provincial Governor Vilayvong Boutdakham affirmed that his province has set up many cooperative relationships with a number of Vietnamese localities, including Da Nang. Over the past time, Da Nang has supported his locality to train high-quality human resources, build schools, improve transport infrastructure, develop the agricultural sector, and fight against COVID-19.
The Lao host expressed his wish that Da Nang and Champasak Province would reinforce the bilateral cooperation in the spheres of trade and investment in the coming time. Top priority would be given to organising exhibitions and fairs to promote locally-made goods, facilitating Da Nang's businesses to seek investment opportunities in Champasak Province, and supporting Lao Province to build commercial centres, and develop digital government and economy.

On the occasion, the two localities' industry and trade sectors also entered into a cooperation agreement.
Also on the same day, Secretary Quang visited the representative office of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade in Pakse City, Champasak Province.
The Da Nang leader suggested the office actively promote trade promotion exchanges and investment cooperation between Da Nang and Laotian localities, as well as quickly implement cooperation contents signed between the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade and the south central provinces of Laos.
Also, special attention should be paid to connecting tourism and logistics activities between Da Nang and Champasak through Thailand and vice versa, especially promoting the opening of direct flights between Champasak and Da Nang.
