Da Nang has established diplomatic relations with many countries and territories around the world, and set up cooperation ties with many localities at both home and abroad, especially with the five south central provinces of Laos, remarked Secretary Quang.

He informed that during his working trip to these Lao localities in early July, he witnessed the signing ceremonies of cooperation agreements between Da Nang and  the Laotian localities during the 2023-2027 period, thereby further strengthening their traditional friendship and special solidarity.

The Da Nang Party chief said proudly that Da Nang is now home to many consulates, and representative offices of foreign diplomatic agencies and international organisations, so how to ensure quality and efficiency of foreign affairs activities is one of the top concerns facing the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board.

Therefore, he hoped that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to pay attention and create the most favourable conditions for the city to fulfill its tasks.

Secretary Quang took the opportunity to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its active support for the city, especially in handling diplomatic relations issues, developing diplomatic relations with other localities, supporting COVID-19 vaccines, and strengthening investment cooperation.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that over the past time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has well-coordinated with Da Nang to successfully organise large-scale events, especially the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in 2017 which left good impression on domestic and foreign tourists.

Deputy Minister Vu emphasised the need for Da Nang to accompany the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to well implement foreign affairs missions in the coming time, hereby realising its target of becoming a large, ecological and smart city, a center for innovative startups, and an Asia-level livable coastal city by 2045.
