A group of Da Nang leaders, led by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh visited and extended New Year wishes to staff of the Consulate Generals of Russia and Japan in Da Nang on Friday.

During his visit to the Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang, Vice Chairman Minh wished all consulate staff a happy, prosperous and successful New Year.

He expressed his delight at the good friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Russia in general, and between Da Nang and Russian localities in particular.

Mr. Minh took the opportunity to ask Russian Consul General in Da Nang Mizonova Maria Georgievna to continue to act as a bridge to promote the connection between Da Nang and Russian businesses in all spheres, especially in tourism.

The municipal official informed that the city has resumed international air routes, creating a favorable environment for foreign investors, including those from Russia, to visit and seek investment opportunities in the city. Therefore, he hoped that the Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang will step up coordination with the municipal authorities at all levels to facilitate cooperation, trade and cultural exchange activities between the two localities in the coming time.

For his part, Mr. Mizonova Maria Georgievna thanked the Party, government and people of Da Nang for active support for the Russian Consulate General in Da Nang over the past time.

He expressed his belief that, the relationship between Russian and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, will be further fostered in the coming time.

When meeting with Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh offered New Year greetings to the Japanese diplomat and all staff of the Consulate Generals of Japan in Da Nang.

He also vowed that the municipal government always made every effort to enhance the investment and business environment to attract more Japanese investors to invest in the city.

Mr. Ho Ky Minh informed that the city's leaders will make a working trip to Japan in March 2023 to introduce investment cooperation opportunities in Da Nang with Japanese leaders and organisations.

In reply, Consul General Yakabe Yoshinori thanked the city leaders for their special care and support over the past year.

He asked for the helping hand from the municipal government in organising a number of cultural exchange activities in 2023 to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic ties, aiming to tightening the bilateral cooperation relations between Japan and Viet Nam, and between Japanese localities and Da Nang in particular.

The Japanese diplomat believed that the city leader's visit to Japan in March 2023 will help strengthen the relationships with Da Nang, and promote the bilateral investment and cooperation with the city in such aspects as economy, education, culture and tourism.
