More than VND12 billion go to support children and male students in difficult circumstances
Over the past 5 years, over VND8,232 billion have gone to support 57 orphans and disadvantaged children aged from 4 - 18, as part of the project on raising and educating orphans and children with extremely difficult circumstances in Da Nang.
These children have been cared for at the Family Charity Shelter Shelter No.1 based in Ngu Hanh Son District and the Family Charity Shelter No. 2 based in Thanh Khe District. The 12th grade students are given career orientations in the national high school graduation examinations.
Meanwhile, 31 poor male students who are studying at universities, colleges, intermediate schools or vocational schools across Da Nang have received financial support totalling more than VND4 billion.
Besides curricula, the students have been facilitated to attend training courses on foreign languages, computers, and life skills, and career oriented in accordance with passion and capacity.
Among the graduates, about 85-90% of them have earned suitable jobs and have an income of VND6-12 million/month.
Approved by the Da Nang government in 2017, the two aforementioned projects were funded by the Give Back to the Children organisation, the USA, and carried out by the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection.
