Da Nang officials visit Consulate General of Viet Nam in Japan's Osaka

The visiting Da Nang delegation led by Municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, was warmly applauded during their visit to the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka on Thursday morning.

During his reception for Da Nang visitors, the Consul General of Viet Nam to Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha expressed his delight at fine development of bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in such aspects as politic, economy, culture, and education, in recent years .

Milestone in bilateral cooperation between the Kansai region and Viet Nam always remain at 850 projects. This Japanese region and Da Nang currently collaborate across a wide range of different areas. The Kansai region also shows keen interest in launching non-stop flights to Da Nang, and cooperating in the fields of economy, environment, and human resource training. Currently, there are 500,000 Vietnamese people working and studying in this Japanese region.

It is known that not only the Kansai region but also many other Japanese localities also want to expand bilateral cooperation with Da Nang, thereby helping the Vietnamese central city outpace its socio-economic development.

Mr Ngo Trinh Ha said that the Division of Science, Technology, Trade and Investment under the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka City is willing to facilitate Da Nang to enhance bilateral relations with this Japanese city.

The Da Nang Party Chief praised the Vietnamese Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha, and Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka as a whole, for their efforts in supporting the visiting Da Nang delegation during their stay here, especially in the preparation for investment and tourism promotion seminar in Osaka.

The Da Nang top leader stated that the Japanese business community show keen interest in investing and doing business in Da Nang, asking for support from the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka to encourage Japanese partners to increase cooperation with Da Nang in investment, trade and tourism, as well as share their experiences in the field of waste treatment, and put their money into the waste treatment plant project and more.

Mr Quang took the opportunity to ask for more assistance from the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka to promote the opening of direct flights from Da Nang to this Japanese city. At the same time, he remarked that the Da Nang government will direct relevant local agencies to work with the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines to launch these international flights as soon as possible.

Secretary Quang emphasized the need for a marketing strategy to promote Da Nang as an attractive tourist and investment destination for Osaka’s travellers and businesses. The focus will be on attracting foreign direct investment into the Hi-Tech Park and industrial parks in Da Nang.

Mr Quang said that Da Nang will coordinate with Japanese partners to organize many meaningful activities, including the Viet Nam - Japan Cultural Week to be held in July 2023 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan. Hence, Da Nang will invite many Japanese artists and art troupes to attend this festival. The Da Nang top leader took the opportunity to ask for help from the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka to facilitate the city to connect with Japanese localities and invite their delegations to join this international event.
