Da Nang, Cannes strengthen tourism cooperation
Mr. Thomas de Pariente, Deputy Mayor of Cannes, France, expressed his desire to promote tourism cooperation with Da Nang during his meeting on Friday with municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

The guest introduced the city leader to potential and strengths of Cannes in tourism development, the organisation of international events and festivals, and being an international destination for culture and arts.
He also remarked that Da Nang and Cannes shared many similarities in geographical location, and great potential for the development of sustainable marine tourism.
Deputy Mayor Thomas de Pariente hoped that the two seaside cities will exchange and quickly promote cooperation in education and high-quality human resource training for the tourism industry in the near future.
He pledged to act as a bridge between the two localities to foster the bilateral cooperation in training human resources and tourism managers.

For his part, Chairman Chinh noted, currently, the city still preserved many architectural works built by the French. In addition, French is taught at some senior high schools citywide.
The city leader emphasised that Da Nang has been focusing on improving the quality of human resources in the tourism industry, thereby hoping to have more human resource training courses in the tourism industry to facilitate exchange and learning between the two localities.
Mr. Chinh asked for help from the French visitor to promote Da Nang tourism to Cannes, as well as create exchange and cooperation opportunities between the people of the two countries.
