Last year, the Navy Region 3 cooperated closely with the Military Command, Border Guard Command, and police of 7 central regional provinces and cities (Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh) and Border Guard Squadron 48 successfully completed the task of security management and protection, thereby firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

The units regularly exchanged relevant information about the political security, social order and safety, the situation of foreign ships violating our country's waters and domestic vessels violating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities, accidents at sea, and search and rescue work.

At the same time, they promptly rescued fishermen's boats in case of engine failure; provided food and medical support for needy fishermen; shared information and supported human resources, vehicles and materials in search and rescue activities; and overcame the consequences of natural disasters caused by floods and forest fires.

In 2023, the Naval Region 3 towed two fishing boats of Quang Ngai Province that had an engine failure at sea to shore, as well as received and handed over fishermen on 2 fishing boats of Quang Nam Province in distress at sea to local authorities.

Also, dozens of propaganda sessions on islands and islands were organised in the city for a large number of people and fishermen. Two great solidarity houses and 6 team houses, worth VND620 million in total, were donated to needy people. Gifts, totalling more than VND3 billion, were presented to people in need.

Moreover, the "Navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to head out to sea” was effectively carried out in the city. As a result, 180 sets of documents and leaflets; 600 national flags and 140 life jackets were given to local fishermen. 12 children of fishermen in difficult circumstances received financial support.

Besides, over VND2.7 billion was raised to take care of the lives of naval officers and soldiers, and people on the islands of Con Co and Ly Son.
