Lunar New Year gifts being sent to naval soldiers and people of Con Co and Ly Son island districts
The Navy Region 3 Command held a meeting on Monday with the working group that will visit and present Lunar New Year gifts to local residents, and naval officers and men in Quang Tri Province’s Co Co Island District and Quang Ngai Province’s Ly Son Island District.

Led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, who is Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, the delegation includes representatives of officials of 27 localities, agencies, units, and businesses nationwide, along with reporters and editors from central and local press agencies.
The Da Nang delegation will be led by Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the municipal People's Council Nguyen Dinh Khanh Van.
Accordingly, the working group will give more than 250 Tet gifts, totalling VND more than 750 million, to naval officers and soldiers who are on duty on the two islands and at sea.
Also, gifts donated by localities, agencies, organisations, businesses and individuals will be delivered to naval officers and soldiers of the Navy Region 3, and local residents on the two island districts of Con Co and Ly Son. The gifts, valued at more than VND1.864 billion in total, will comprise cash, 75 gift sets, and 574 boxes of necessities and living materials.
For its part, Da Nang will present two gifts to the Naval Region 3 Command; 21 others to agencies, units, and armed forces stationed in the Con Co and Ly Son island districts; and 200 to people, and the armed forces stationed in the Con Co and Ly Son island districts. The total value of the gifts is VND370 million.
Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien highlighted the political and social significance of the trip in arousing emotions, and raising awareness and responsibility of provinces, cities, agencies, departments, branches, and people from all walks of life about protecting the sacred sovereignty of the national sea and islands.
He added that the trip will continue to affirm the solidarity and close relationship between the rear and the front line; between governments and people of central and local provinces; and between media agencies and naval force and people of Con Co and Ly Son island districts.
On the same afternoon, the working group left the Naval Region 3’s Military Port based in Son Tra District, Da Nang, for Co Co and Ly Son island districts.
