In attendance at the event were General To Lam, Minister of Public Security of Viet Nam; General Vilay Lakhamfong, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Security of Laos; and Mr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Cambodia.

The conference aims to implement the agreements of the three countries' senior leaders, as well as strengthen and improve the effectiveness of cooperation between Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam, thereby cultivating solidarity and cooperation in the field of ensuring national security and social order.

The event provides an opportunity for senior leaders of the Ministries of Public Security and the Ministries of Home Affairs of the three countries to exchange and enhance the effectiveness of fights against all types of crime, especially in the border areas of each country. This will make the borders of Viet Nam - Cambodia, Viet Nam - Laos, and Cambodia - Laos become borders of peace, cooperation and development for security and order in each country and in the region.

In his speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the conference, General To Lam emphasised that in recent times, armed conflicts have been becoming ever more complex and unpredictable. The global political situation continues to shift towards multi-polarity and multi-center trends, requiring strengthening the solidarity and close bond between the police forces and home affairs of the three countries.

He also voiced his hope that the conference will create a new cooperation mechanism for the police and home affairs forces of the three countries to further increase the effectiveness of coordination in fights against crime, thereby contributing to ensuring national security and social order and safety of each country as well as ensuring security and order in the development triangle and the ASEAN region.

After the opening ceremony, the conference started its agenda. Heads of delegations of the three countries presented reports about results of cooperation in the field of crime prevention and control between Ministries of Public Security and Home Affairs of Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam.

The Ministers of Public Security and Home Affairs of Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam agreed to continue to effectively coordinate and implement bilateral cooperation agreements between Viet Nam - Laos, and Viet Nam - Cambodia; as well as enhancing information exchange on world and regional situations. Priority will be given to maintaining and boosting defence and security cooperation mechanisms, building peaceful, stable borders, and regularly notifying each other about investment activities.
