Da Nang delegation concludes trip to Truong Sa Archipelago

The working delegation No. 5, led by Rear Admiral Pham Van Hung, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Navy, successfully concluded a trip to the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago and the DK1/2 Phuc Tan Rig on Thursday.

Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Da Nang Nguyen Thi Anh Thi was Deputy Head of the delegation. The delegation had over 190 delegates from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Da Nang, and the provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai.

Between April 5 - 11, the delegation paid visits to Truong Sa Town; Song Tu Tay and Sinh Ton island communes; Da Thi, Co Lin and Da Tay A islands; and the DK1/2 Phuc Tan Rig.

During the trip, the visitors presented gifts to navy officers and men and islanders, and grasped thoroughly the ideologies and daily lives of naval officers and men.

The working group also organized 7 musical performances to serve navy soldiers and people at locations; and conducted 5 nights of cultural and artistic exchanges on the working ship KN 390.

Besides, the delegation also held a solemn ceremony to commemorate the officers and soldiers who heroically sacrificed their lives to safeguard the country’s island territory over the reefs of Gac Ma (Johnson South), Co Lin (Collins), and Len Dao (Lansdowne) in Viet Nam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago; and offer incense at monuments and memorial houses of heroic martyrs and spiritual sites on islands.
