The US promotes cooperation with Da Nang in semiconductor
During his meeting on Tuesday with Cultural Counselor of the US Embassy in Viet Nam Mary Beth Polley, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh briefed his guest on the development of infrastructure in the hi-tech park and the Software Park No.2 in service of semiconductor industry.

In addition to infrastructure, the city has promoted the training of high-quality human resources in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI), he added.
Recently, with the support of Synopsys Vietnam Company, the Viet Nam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU) has coordinated with the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training (DSAC) to offer a training course on semiconductor to 25 lecturers selected from universities citywide.
To create new growth breakthroughs from this potential industry, Vice Chairman Minh asked for help from the US Embassy in Viet Nam to support Da Nang in training human resource for semiconductor circuit design, and semiconductor assembly, test, packaging (ATP).

He informed that during their business trip to the US in March, Da Nang’s officials worked with many large organisations, companies, and corporations such as the World Bank, Intel, Synopsys, authorities in Oregon and Ampere states, and the Arizona State University to discuss and propose human resource training programmes for Da Nang. Also, they introduced guests to the environment and policy mechanisms of the city to attract more investment flows into local semiconductor technology.

She highly appreciated the dynamic growth of Da Nang. She voiced her hope that the city leaders will continue to create the best conditions for US businesses to visit and seek investment opportunities in the city in the fields of hi-tech and semiconductor technologies.
The US diplomat was accompanied by Dr. George T.C. Chiu, a speaker from the Purdue University during her visit to Da Nang.
When working with Da Nang leaders, Dr. George T.C. Chiu presented cooperation models in training human resources for semiconductor technology between US higher education institutions, especially the research facilities of Purdue University and Da Nang.
