Da Nang seeks cooperation opportunities and expands tourism, trade markets in Indonesia
A group of Da Nang’s officials, led by Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, paid a visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia on Wednesday.

Expressing his delight at fruitful outcomes from traditional cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and Indonesia, Mr. Ta Van Thong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to Indonesia and concurrently to Timor-Leste, mentioned many cooperation opportunities between Da Nang and Indonesian partners in trade, tourism and cultural exchange.
In reply, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi thanked Ambassador Ta Van Thong for his warm welcome and sent his best wishes to him and his staff on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2024).
She also asked for a helping hand from the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia to continue promoting the image of Da Nang to the Indonesian government and people, as well as support the city in connecting and fostering the establishment of official cooperative relations with localities in Indonesia that have share similarities in development orientation.
She also requested the Embassy to increase support for direct or online trade connection activities between Da Nang and Indonesian businesses. Heed should be on facilitating Da Nang enterprises to participate in fairs, exhibitions, and market surveys in Indonesian, as well as encouraging Indonesian businesses to join some trade events in the city, including International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair.

Importance will be attached to organising seminars to promote investment, tourism and business activities; as well as boosting the cooperation and development of sports of Indonesia's strength such as rowing, badminton and volleyball, the city official emphasised.
Mrs. Thi suggested the two sides study and boost the exchange of experiences on the Family Doctor Model; and discuss ways to manage non-communicable diseases and digital transformation, and to apply information technology in medical examination and treatment activities in Indonesia.
She added that the priority should be given to exchanging experiences in effectively managing and operating smart city models in Jakarta and Bandung.
Based on the proposal made by Ambassador Ta Van Thong on promoting the opening of direct flights between Da Nang and Bali, Vice Chairwoman Thi showed her willingness to support airlines to launch new air services between the two localities.
On the occasion, the city leader invited representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia to visit Da Nang for attending the Viet Nam - ASEAN Festival 2025 in the city.
