After the floodwaters had receded, Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District authorities helped local residents to clean up the environment and deal with the consequences of the flooding.

On Sunday afternoon, around 200 police officers and men from Battalion No 3 under the Ministry of Public Security, along with the teachers and pupils from the Hoa Phong and Hoa Nhon communes, tidied up 10 pre-schools, primary schools and junior high schools in the two communes.

The Hoa Phong Commune People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Lam Tien Sy, said that apart from cleaning up their own houses, local residents had been actively involved in sorting out the mess on the roads and at the cultural house.  He added that his commune was coordinating with the district’s Preventive Medical Centre to spray disinfectants to reduce the possibility of any flood-related diseases breaking out in the commune.

In addition, more than 10 workers from the Da Nang Irrigation Exploitation Company were sent into the An Trach dam to tidy up.  The clean up is expected to be completed over the next 3 days.
