Winners of municipal Press Awards revealed
On Tuesday afternoon, the organising board of the 2013 Da Nang Press Awards selected the winners of its notable awards. The municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, is the Head of this year’s Awards Organising Board.
There were a total of 14 winning print publications in the A and B categories.
The A category featured reflections, notes, interviews, and press photographs, and there were 2 second, 3 third and 4 commendation prizes awarded. Amongst the winners were reporters from the Da Nang Newspaper who received 1 second, 2 third and 2 commendation prizes.

The B category included editorials, comments, treatises, reports, investigative reports, and press notes. The Da Nang Newspaper’s reporters received 2 third and 1 commendation prizes.
As for online editions, there was no winner in the A category, and 1 third and 1 commendation prize in the B category went to the Da Nang Newspaper’s reporters.
With regard to television programmes, there was one third and one commendation prize in the A category for interviews, thematic and exchange programmes, and talks.
In the B category, which features reports, investigative reports, documentary films, commentaries and treatises, 2 first, a second, a third and 3 commendation prizes were awarded. In particular, reporter Dang Quoc Phon from the Da Nang Radio and Television Station took one of the first prizes for his “Towards Motherland” work. Lam Khanh and Phuoc Ngai from the Television Station of the Da Nang Police Department were also given a first prize for their “Hydropower - An Overview from Downstream Areas”.
For radio programmes, there was no winner in the A category, but in the B category a second and a commendation prize were awarded.
