A stroke centre at Da Nang's C Hospital has been officially opened to the public.

The centre, the first of its kind in the central region and highlands, is equipped with modern medical equipment including emergency devices and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.  Initially, there are beds for 30 patients.

The new centre provides medical treatment for patients from the city and elsewhere in the region who are suffering from cerebral infarction, cerebral haemorrhage, post-stroke dementia, or the sequelae of cerebrovascular disease.  It also provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy and rehabilitation services for stroke patients, as well as helping them to reduce the risk of recurrent stroke and other mental disorders.

The centre is also offering medical examinations and screenings for the early detection of these problems.

Before the end of this year, more medical equipment will be installed to provide magnetic resonance imaging, digital subtraction angiography, and transcranial Doppler tests.
