Efforts to fight crime
During the ongoing 1st session of the Da Nang People’s Committee (PC) for the 2016 - 2021 tenure, the municipal PC Chairman Huynh Duc Tho has urged local relevant agencies to make greater efforts to ensure security and social safety to create a friendly, safe and peaceful tourism environment for local residents and visitors.
Stronger measures should be taken to fight against crime, especially drug and hi-tech-related crimes, to deal with illegal tourism activities and corruption cases, and to reduce the number of road traffic accidents.
Heed should be paid to encouraging locals to build a cultured and civilised urban lifestyle, as well as to report any crimes to relevant agencies. Importance will be attached to speeding up the installation of security cameras in public areas, residential areas and markets. This will help make Da Nang a liveable, safe and attractive destination for both visitors and locals.
Also at the session, participants heard reports on the use of the city's funds for its basic construction projects, the implementation of anti-corruption activities, and the handling of complaints and denouncements over the first half of this year.
