A grand ceremony will be held at the Tien Son Sports Arena on 31 December to mark the 20^th anniversary of Da Nang’s recognition as a centrally-governed city.  The event will take place in the morning and is open to invited guests only.

However, the Da Nang authorities will not welcome any congratulatory flowers from other centrally-governed cities, ministries, or agencies at municipal or national levels.

The city has recently made this decision in active response to the current guidelines from the Party, State and national government on practising thrift and avoiding wastefulness.
