New traffic arrangements near tunnel site start on 10 January
As reported yesterday, the 1st stage of the construction of a road tunnel to take Da Nang’s Tran Phu under the busy junction with Le Duan has now been completed. Work is scheduled to start on the 2nd stage of the project on 10 January, and the whole project is expected to be completed before 30 April 2017.
Traffic flows around the construction site as from 10 January |
Under the recently-approved plans for traffic management around the construction site, 2-way traffic will be restored along Le Duan and over the Han River Bridge from 10 January.
At the same time, a section of Tran Phu between its intersections with Quang Trung and Phan Dinh Phung will be closed for the implementation of the 2nd stage of the project. 2-way traffic will instead be permitted on the section of Bach Dang between its intersections with Quang Trung and Phan Dinh Phung with a speed limit of 30km/h. Parking of any vehicles along this section of Bach Dang will be prohibited all day until further notice.
The sections of Quang Trung and Phan Dinh Phung between their intersections with Bach Dang and Tran Phu will temporarily be made one-way, the Quang Trung section only allowing travel towards Bach Dang, and with Phan Dinh Phung one-way from Bach Dang to Tran Phu.
Between 7.00am and 8.00am, and between 5.00pm and 6.00pm, cars (but not motorbikes) will be banned from using the Han River Bridge.
Local traffic police officers and inspectors will be on duty near the construction site to regulate traffic and avoid traffic congestion during the construction period. Relevant local agencies will widely publicise the traffic management arrangements set out above.
