On Wednesday, representatives from the World Vision organisation officially handed over a swimming pool to the Ngo May Primary School in Da Nang’s Son Tra District.

The international organisation has also partly funded the construction of another at the Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School in the same district. 

The total cost of the 2 swimming pools was 575 million VND.  Of this, World Vision provided 365 million VND, whilst the remainder came from the budgets of the Son Tra District People’s Committee and the two schools.   

World Vision plans to provide free swimming courses for 400 local poor pupils, and organise annual water sports competitions and related events for around 1,000 local pupils.
