At around 8.00am on Monday, fishing boat DNa 90266, owned by 50-year-old Le Van Xi, was found sinking whilst it was anchored at Da Nang's Man Quang Bay.

After receiving a report about the incident from local fishermen, the Da Nang river rescuers immediately used a high-speed rescue boat with 2 water pumps onboard to come to the scene.

After reaching to the scene, the rescuers had to use 2 more water pumps and asked fishing boats DNa 90420TS and DNa 90813 nearby to help to pump water out of the sinking boat. In addition, a winch was used for lifting the boat in distress out of water.

In the afternoon of the same day, the cabin and floor of the 50 tonne and 400CV distressed boat were raised out of the water.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
