At around 9.00 am yesterday, a large fire broke out at the Suoi Da area, near the foot at the Son Tra Mountain, Tho Quang Ward, Da Nang’s Son Tra District. It engulfed an area covering around 1,000 square metres.

The blaze being put out

Soon after, 3 fire engines, along with dozens of firefighters from the municipal Department of Fire Fighting and Prevention, were on the scene after the Department received a report from the witnesses.

Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished within about one hour, hereby successfully preventing the fire spreading into the nearby Son Tra forest.

Initial investigation showed that, Nguyen Van Nho, residing at 144 Ly Tu Tan, burned dried plants to make bio-fertilizers at the Suoi Da area, opposite the Naval Zone 3 Hospital, which resulted in the large blaze.

Punishment will be imposed on the violator in accordance with the national laws.
