21.15 million VND donated to little girl with blood cancer
The DA NANG Today published an article on 5 October to appeal for donations to help 8-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Anh Nhi from Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, at http://baodanang.vn/english/society/201810/poor-girl-with-blood-cancer-in-desperate-need-of-help-3118093/. She is suffering from acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which is a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood.
To date, a total of 21.15 million VND has been donated by our readers, and on Wednesday afternoon DA NANG Newspaper Deputy Editor-in-Chief Pham Thi My Hanh, handed the donations to Nhi’s father, Mr Nguyen Quoc Hai, at the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital. Also, Mrs Hanh shared her sympathy and gave spiritual encouragement to Nhi’s family.
After the DA NANG Newspaper published the article about Nhi, the municipal Department of Education and Training on Wednesday wrote a an appeal letter to ask for more donations from education and training offices, non-public universities, senior high schools, and schools across the city. The intention is to help Nhi and her 2-year-old little brother Nguyen Quoc Hung who is suffering from congenital lung abnormalities.
